Nothing marks the start of the festive season quite like the Camberwell Multiple Birth Association (CAMBA) annual Christmas party.
I’ve had the pleasure of capturing this event for CAMBA over the last couple years and again last weekend. It’s been wonderful to see these families grow over the years.
I don’t have firsthand knowledge about parenting multiples (I only have one small human to run after). I do, however, have twin nephews who I babysit on occasion and that’s more than enough to give me a glimpse into the challenges as well as the rewards that come with caring for these duos, trios and more.
I’ve seen the support CAMBA offers to families and the sense of community is evident at these get togethers – not only in how well they are attended but also in how much these families seem so happy to be in each other’s company.
As per usual there was a lot going on. Face painting (which always has me swooning at the art these lovely ladies produce); giant bubbles which always draws an enthusiastic crowd; the ever-needed cup of coffee (for any parent) conveniently served from the back of a van - seriously, my next car! Delicious food made by members themselves; craft tables to decorate cookies or create Christmas tree decorations; playgrounds, trampolines and ball pits to burn off all the energy; a word from the CAMBA president followed by raffles and prize giving; and finally, a visit from Santa, of course!
Take a look at the slide show to see how the day unfolded:
If you would like to see more of the photos I took, specifically if I took family photos for you on the day, then please pop me an email at info@gillcookphotography.com and I will send you a link to view the gallery where you can purchase prints and digital files. Please note, all requests will have to be verified by CAMBA first. A portion of the sale will be donated to CAMBA.
